Fitzroy Mining Operations recently rolled out our Mature Age Apprenticeship program with participants undertaking a Certificate III in Electrotechnology or Certificate IV in Engineering. This initiative has been developed to give broad exposure to all areas of the underground operation and consists of a six-month cycle per area to give our employees enough time to understand core elements whilst gaining experience in each area.
Most participants are long term Fitzroy employees, with all but one being existing underground coal mine workers. Some in the group have a past in other qualifications such as Butchery and Carpentry.
Fitzroy are proud to invest in our people, and it just goes to show that it is never too late to learn something new.
